The Passing of Board Member Linual A. White Jr.

Linual A. White Jr.

Lompoc Valley Medical Center mourns the passing of Board of Directors member Linual A. White Jr., who died December 6.

Soon after he was elected to the board 3 years ago Linual was diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer. I have never seen anyone travel his path with such dignity and grace. He was a remarkable man and superior Board member. He will be missed by all. Our prayers go out to him and his family.

Mr. White was elected to the Lompoc Valley Medical Center Board of Directors in November 2014. Born and raised in El Centro, CA, he served in the local fire department for 25 years as a battalion chief, operations officer and fire marshal. Mr. White also served as the Fire Chief of Lompoc from July 2002 until his retirement in December 2009.

An ardent supporter of his adopted community, Mr. White served on the Lompoc Library Board of Trustees and on the executive board of the Lompoc Valley Community Health Organization.
